【教授举例】：

There is an ant group in the pine tree. They can rely on the odour to analyze whether other ants come from the pine tree. If they can smell the same odour from the pine tree, which means they are from the same nest, they will share the food or carry the food back to the nest together. Conversely, if they smell different odour from other ants, they will not share the food.

【讲课要点】：Seed dormant的两个好处：

*、是让其他动物把它们带到other area，这样避免和parent plants竞争。

举例一些bird会把没有扎根的dormant seed带到其他地方，转而去和其他mature plants竞争，没有parents plant，竞争压力小更适合生长。

第二、是可以有更favorable condition，繁衍进步survival的几率。比如在沙漠里很多时候dry, seed可以等到下雨有足够的水的时候再开始grow，这样能survive。
